Adia, who just turned three years old, lives in Fernie, British Columbia, Canada. A video of her when she was just shy of her third birthday has gone viral across social media. Why? She’s a beast on the slopes, and as she’s skiing down hills, through the trees, and across different textures, she talks herself through all the challenges. Adia’s parents, Erich Leidums and Courtney Haeusler, posted a video of Adia skiing with a microphone placed on her. The result is we get to see a very skilled toddler skier coach herself as she skis down the slopes. “Going over you, ice,” she says. “Going around you, ice.” She then skis past a cutout of a one-eyed monster on the tree, saying, “hi, one-eyed monster,” which distracted her enough to make her fall. Instead of making a big deal about her tumble, she took a second to spit the dirt and snow out of her mouth (and a piece of hair) before picking herself up, dusting herself off, and giving well-deserved props. “I think that was a good fall,” she says before starting her way back down the hill proclaiming, “This way! Going this way.” The video was shared on TikTok and Instagram with a much longer version of her ski posted on the family’s YouTube channel, That Mountain Life. On TikTok, the video garnered 1.8 million views and counting. The comment section was full of props to the little girl. Not just for her skiing skills, but the way she communicates and how she handles falling with so much positivity. Adia Leidums is adorable. She’s a badass. And we’re going to have to keep an eye on this little star.
