After 12 years, Playmates Toys is, once again, doing Star Trek action figures and accessories. For those who may have forgotten, or weren’t Trek-inclined in the ’90s, what made the Playmates toys so great is that you could actually play with them. All the figures had a billion points of articulation, all the vehicles and playsets (like the Shuttlecraft and the Enterprise Bride) were super-detailed, and the sheer number of different characters you could get was staggering. And now, Playmates is starting it all up again. Beginning in July 2022, you can order the new waves of Star Trek toys from Playmates online. These toys are expected to hit stores this fall. For the first wave, we’re getting action figures from The Wrath of Khan, The Next Generation, and one of the newer shows, Star Trek: Discovery. Here’s how that shakes out.

Here are more details about how to preorder these new toys. The next new Star Trek series — Star Trek: Picard Season 2 — will hit Paramount+ on March 3. And just like last time, Jean-Luc Picard is getting too old for this sh*t but is saving the universe, anyway.
