Star Wars Galaxy S Edge Lightsabers Earn Rave Reviews From Visitors

As we’ve reported before, the lightsabers are customizable — guests choose their components and assemble their saber themselves — and pricey. The Los Angeles Times has a good rundown of what the experience is like, and it seems that, in true Disney fashion, narrative is front and center....

Study Don T Calm Your Kid Down By Handing Them A Phone

For the study, researchers followed 422 typically developing children aged 3 to 5 years for six months to gather data points on how using screens to calm agitated kids affected their ability to regulate emotions. After gathering a baseline for each participant, researchers followed up three months later and then again six months after the initial assessment. Not only did findings suggest associations between increased emotional dysregulation and the frequent use of devices like smartphones and tablets to calm upset kids, but they also found that the association between device-calming and emotional consequences was even higher for boys and kids who were predisposed to hyperactivity, impulsivity, and intense reactions to feelings like frustration, sadness, and anger....

The 5 Things I Taught My Daughter Before I Let Her Walk To School Alone

Back when the daffodils were sprouting from damp earth came the first tentative request. “Do you think I could maybe walk to school by myself?” As far as world-shattering questions go, this is low on the list. It falls far behind heart-stoppers like: “Where do babies come from?” or “Can I borrow the car keys?” Still, it was a question I wasn’t ready to answer, so I fell back on the classic dad response: “We’ll see....

The word “noninjurious” implies that it’s possible to hit a child and not injure them. And while it’s true that many spankings do not leave visible bruises, this definition discounts the fact that not all injuries to children are physical....

To get the most milk in the least amount of time, women can get a double pump, which draws milk from both breasts simultaneously. Many of today’s fanciest pumps have something called a closed system: It means that milk doesn’t circulate through tubing or the motor of the pump, thus keeping things simpler and more hygienic....
