When Disney launched their streaming service, Disney+, all those outdated movies were released and available to watch in its full form. The company decided not to hide their racist past, instead opting for a disclaimer on the movie descriptions instead of resorting to editing the parts out as if they never happened. As Fatherly previously discussed, the company’s decision to not hide their past was a good one and allows for us to choose for our own families whether to watch the content and have a discussion about racism, to ignore it altogether, or not watch them at all....

On Friday, Governor Republican Ron DeSantis signed a bill dissolving the Reedy Creek Improvement District. It’s essentially a special legal zone that allows Disney to operate as an independent government around its theme parks. The special legal zone has been in place for 55 years and the special purpose district provides a cut through legal red tape for taxes. In place, Disney took over responsibility for certain municipal services like fire protection, roads, water, and electricity....

The fun doesn’t stop at Disney World either, 11 of Disney’s parks will now be available to look at through Google Maps. That’s a lot of new square footage and a lot of castles. In a sense, the functionality allows users to enjoy the parks without crowds. In another sense, it provides something more like a slideshow experience than like the genuine artifact. The most amusing element of the new Street View is all the individual images of tourists and vacationers doing a double-take at the Google guy walking around with a 3D camera on his back....

A New York Times analysis found that beginning in August, counties where college students comprise more than ten percent of the population went from a downward trajectory to a pronounced uptick in COVID-19 cases per capita even as other counties continued to see dwindling numbers. What Ford models are being recalled? Ford recently issued three separate recalls impacting some of its more popular vehicle models. The first recall has been released for the 2021 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs that are impacting 39,000 vehicles. A second but separate recall impacts several of the vehicle manufacturer’s heavy-duty trucks including the 2016 F-150, 350, 450, and 550. Approximately 310,000 vehicles are affected by this recall. Additionally, Ford has announced a recall for 464 vehicles related to its 2021 electric Mustang Mach-E SUVs....
