Although the Tobey Maguire trilogy of Spidey flicks predated the explosion of Marvel studios (and what we think of as a “Marvel movie”) there’s no question that these films paved the way for what would become the cinematic superhero renaissance. Although most (correctly) have some issues with 2007’s Spider-Man 3 it’s tough to argue with the near-perfection of Spider-Man (2002) and Spider-Man 2 (2004). And, if you’re feeling nostalgic for these movies (and the moment in time when Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Michael Chabon co-wrote a Spidey movie) there’s some good news! All three of these classic early aughts Spideys are streaming for free right now. As of February 1, 2022, the free streaming service Crackle has these three Spider-Man movies streaming free.
